    Yes! But our dental students rely on you attending each of your scheduled appointments. If travel, especially during wintertime, is problematic, the Faculty may not be your best option. 

    Adults can register through patient reception. Please click here for details. 

    Children under the age of 18 register through the Faculty of Dentistry Children's Clinic. 

    For emergency dental work, call (416) 864-8000 and specify that you are experiencing a dental emergency.

    For braces or other orthodontic services, please visit our Orthodontic Clinic. 

    The Faculty of Dentistry Clinic also accepts referrals from dentists and other healthcare providers for a range of services.

    On average, appointments will last 2 1/2 hours. Your student may ask you to attend an appointment once a week for the duration of your treatment. Please note: neither childcare nor translation services are available.

    It can take weeks to months before care is completed, and care may extend through a number of appointments. Most patients will have multiple appointments before their dental work is finished. Because each step must be checked by an instructor, both the length of each appointment and the number of appointments is greater that in comparison to private practice.  

    Patients are expected to give 48 hours’ notice if they are unable to attend an appointment. If a patient misses two appointments in a row without proper notice, a cancellation fee of $50.00 will be charged. If a third appointment is missed without proper notice, patient dismissal may occur. 

    The University of Toronto, Faculty of Dentistry is a full service dental facility. Student dentists provide fillings, dentures, braces, bridges, implants, children's dentistry, root canals, crowns, treatment of gum disease, extractions, x-rays and more.     Translation services are not available. Patients who cannot converse or write in English must bring an interpreter with them to every appointment

    If experiencing dental pain, a limited number of emergency appointments are available in the Emergency Clinic. Call (416) 864-8000 and state that you are experiencing a dental emergency.    

    The Faculty of Dentistry accepts all forms of dental insurance as well as government-sponsored plans. Please bring detailed information about insurance coverage to the first appointment.The Faculty will not direct bill your insurance carrier.  

    Though the Faculty of Dentistry’s fees are lower than the fees in private practice. During the first appointment, treatment options and costs will be discussed. Fees are due when service is rendered. Whether or not one has insurance or social services coverage, the patient (or responsible party) is responsible for ensuring that the account remains current.

    Payment options include: cash, VISA, Mastercard, debit card and personal cheque. 

    Payment plans are available.
