Updated April 9, 2020: IMPORTANT NOTICE TO ALL PATIENTS REGARDING COVID-19 AND SERVICE SUSPENSION
Due to COIVD-19, the following protocol is in effect until further notice. Please check the website for updates as they are posted.
We regret that the Faculty Clinics are closed to non-emergency patients. The Faculty is unable to accommodate unregistered and unassigned patients at this time.
If you are experiencing a dental emergency, please contact your dental student or the graduate clinic you normally attend.
If you are unable to contact your student and need immediate care, please contact The Dental Emergency Service on Yonge Street north of St. Clair Avenue at 416 485 7121.
How to register with the Faculty of Dentistry's Patient Clinics
If you need affordable, high-quality dental care, the Faculty of Dentistry Clinics are here for you. Before you register, please be aware of the following:
- The Faculty is closed July and August, and from mid-December until early January. Through July and August, there is very limited patient care available.
- The Faculty offers year-round emergency dental service -- but space is limited. Same day appointments are not guaranteed.
- Due to high volume, patient registration is subject to "black-out" periods.
- If you are calling to make an appointment, please do not hang up. Wait times for telephone registration may be long.
Your First Visit: What to Expect
At the first appointment, x-rays will follow an initial screening appointment in the Oral Diagnosis Clinic. After the x-ray appointment, a second appointment is scheduled in Oral Diagnosis to complete an in-depth examination. It is at this appointment, treatment needs are assessed to determine suitably for the teaching clinics. If successful, a dental student is assigned.
Please note: as an educational institution, our clinics reserve the right to accept only those cases that are suitable for treatment by a dental student; we regret that registration is not a guarantee of treatment.
