New Patients
Here is the typical order of appointments:
Appointment 1: Radiology (X-rays) — Bring two pieces of photo identification to your appointment, which takes place at our Oral Radiology Clinic. Wait times to book this appointment vary depending on the time of year.
Appointment 2: Oral Diagnosis — A complete oral examination and a review of your medical history; takes place at our Oral Diagnosis Clinic.
At this time, the Faculty will determine if you are suitable to be treated as a patient at the Faculty of Dentistry. (We reserve the right to accept only those cases that are suitable for treatment by our dental students.) Those accepted as patients will be assigned to a student.
Appointment 3: Review and Cleaning — Your dental student will review your medical history and perform a cleaning. This may consist of multiple appointments based on scheduling.
Appointment 4: Treatment Planning — Your dental student and an instructor will consult on your case and present you with treatment options, as well as a cost estimate.
Appointment 5: Treatment — Treatment will generally take more than one appointment.
Treatment Concludes — Once your treatment is complete, you will attend an after-care appointment and be placed on the Recall Program List.
