Welcome to the Oral Surgery Clinic, at the Faculty of Dentistry at University of Toronto. 

We offer many services including: 

  • Basic tooth extractions 

  • Alveoloplasty 

  • Biopsies 

  • Incision and drainage 

  • Wisdom teeth removal


How to make an appointment

Existing patients at the Faculty of Dentistry

  • Step 1. If you are already a patient at a dental clinic at the Faculty of Dentistry, your care team can refer you to the Oral surgery clinic, if required. 
  • Step 2. Once we receive a referral, our receptionist will call you to discuss your needs.
    For advanced procedures, like wisdom tooth extraction, you will be required to come in for a consultation appointment. During your consultation appointment, the Oral surgery care team will examine you and discuss your treatment plan. You will also be required to pay an upfront deposit of 50%. (Regular procedures do not require a deposit.) 
  • Step 3. After you complete your consultation, if needed, you will be scheduled for your procedure appointment.  
  • Step 4. To ensure proper recovery, you may be required to come back for a follow-up appointment. Your care team will advise you if this is required. 

New patients

If you are new patient to the Faculty of Dentistry, please review our general new patient information overview. 

  • Step 1. If you are a new patient, you will need a referral from your dentist to be seen at the Oral Surgery Clinic. 
    After assessing you, your dentist’s office will need to fill out our referral form and submit it through our secure digital portal. We also require a recent x-ray to book your appointment. (If you do have a recent x-ray, we can book you for one on site.) 
  • Step 2. After we receive your referral, our receptionist will call you to book your appointment at the Oral Surgery Clinic. 
    For advanced procedures, like wisdom tooth extraction, you will be required to come in for a consultation appointment. During your consultation appointment, the Oral surgery care team will examine you and go over your treatment plan. You will also be required to pay an upfront deposit of 50%. Cost

Please note that there is a cost associated with your treatment. Your care team will discuss the cost of your treatment with you before booking your procedure appointment.  

For certain procedures, be prepared to pay an upfront deposit of 50% during your consultation appointment. 
 
We accept debit and credit cards as methods of payment. We also offer payment plans for certain procedures. 


Coverage

Private insurance: Please note that the Faculty does not accept direct payment from private insurance companies. Patients are required to pay for treatment rendered and will be provided documentation that can be submitted for reimbursement.

Rescheduling or cancelling your appointment

Please note that if you need to reschedule or cancel your appointment, we require 3 business days’ notice. Please call us at 416-864-8330. If you do not give us adequate notice, you will be charged a cancellation fee of $70

 For advanced procedures, if you do not provide adequate notice, you will be charged a fee of $200. We will also keep your deposit.
